A good rule of thumb is to count the number of pleats, add 1 ring for each pleat, add 2 additional rings for the ends of each panel; for flat panels using a ring every 5-7 inches is usually sufficient… for more specific information you will need to contact your drapery manufacturer.

There is no limit to overall drapery rod width; however, we do use rod splices and center brackets as needed for strength, support and to limit the size of individual rod segments for shipping purposes.

5/8 inch rods require a splice and center bracket every 60 inches.

1 inch rods require a spice and center bracket every 72 inches.

Projection means the distance from the wall to the center of the rod, bracket or return. Our standard projection is 3 inches to center and is the best choice in most situations.

If you have blinds or large moldings, it is critical that you measure how far they protrude from the wall. Our standard brackets and returns may not be long enough, that is why we also offer extended brackets and returns, which project 5 ½ inches to center.

Many factors can be involved in determining the correct length of a drapery rod, however here are some of our recommendations. The term stack back refers to the width of a drapery panel when in the open position. Typically the panels should not block your view out of the window, when in the stack back/open position.

For instance, a 31 inch wide window may require 3 to 6 inches past the window molding on each side to avoid blocking the view. A 96 inch wide window may require 8 to 12 inches past the window molding on each side to avoid blocking the view. It is all determined by the window width and how much additional space is needed to avoid blocking the view/window.

If you decide to exchange or return an order or parts, for reasons other than our 100% Quality Guarantee, they must still be sealed in their original bag, in new condition & you will be responsible for the return shipping cost. We do not accept returns for the rod/slide tape, since they are custom cut to your dimensions, but you can receive a refund for all other parts. Color Samples and Slide Tape are Non-Refundable / Non-Returnable. All returns must be made within 30 days of the date of purchase.

You can cancel your custom rod order within the first 24 hours without incurring any charges. Once production has begun on your custom drapery rod order, cancellations will be treated as returns.
